 WASR
is one of the most award-winning radio stations in
 NH.
In October 2007 the station
won three more at the prestigious NHAB (New Hampshire Association of
Broadcasters) Awards Banquet. WASR’s Monique Coppola won in the category
of BEST Short-Form Newscast. Station Manager Joe Collie won in the
categories of BEST Long-Form Newscast and On-Air Personality of the Year!
Since the purchase of WASR by the Winnipesaukee Network, Inc. a total of
16 awards now decorate the WASR "Wall of Fame".
Other major accomplishments at the station since the change of ownership
include the introduction of new digital studios, improved audio quality,
and obtaining broadcast rights for the World Champion Boston Red Sox and
now the Boston Celtics. WASR continues to be known for its "Morning
Report", the only comprehensive AM news report in the region. WASR is well
recognized as a leading station in the Lakes Region, broadcasting to
listeners throughout Central NH from its studios in Wolfeboro. |
