Subject: Friends of Wakefield Libraries “Blueberries and Books” fundraiser
Wakefield – Blueberry season is in full swing and what better time than now to have a “Blueberries and Books” fundraiser? The Friends of Wakefield libraries will hold a book sale and bake sale fundraiser to include all sorts of blueberry confections – jumbo muffins, pies, scones, any kind of blueberry item you can think of – on Saturday August 6th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm outside the Gafney Library.
Books include a large selection of youth fiction, cookbooks, newer adult fiction and nonfiction. Puzzles and local artwork will be available as well.
Be sure to mark this event on your calendar as the Friends of Wakefield Libraries (FOWL!) suspect it will become a major annual event.
Proceeds of this fundraiser will go toward the “Last Chapter” of the Gafney Library fundraising for the new wing – the last $150,000 of the $1,500,000 project.
“FOWL is a group of wonderful volunteers who have helped the library in numerous ways for a long time, especially with recent initiatives in support of our “Second Century Capital Campaign”, said Beryl Donovan, Library Director.
Library President and Campaign Chair, Dick Desroches, said he hopes the community will turn out to support this event, and he expressed gratitude for FOWL’s steadfast support. “Our expansion campaign would not be close to final success without the help of generous donors and community volunteers like the Friends of Wakefield Libraries. Please help get us closer to our goal by coming by to support Books & Blueberries.”
