    Event Summary

Are you in need of high school certification for a better job? Maybe you need it to go on to college. Or, how about studying for certification while your kids are studying at home remotely and reinforcing the value of education? There are many reasons for obtaining high school equivalency and now is a good time to make an appointment at the Gafney Library Adult Learning Center to start studying.

The HiSET test is comprised of five sections: language arts reading, language arts writing, social studies, science, and math. Gafney tutors will give you the one-on-one help you need to successfully pass a pretest in each area and will give you materials to help you study at

home between sessions – you will proceed at your own pace.

Once you have successfully passed a pretest and feel ready to take the final HiSET exam, a tutor will contact one of our HiSET examiners who will contact you to arrange a date and time to take it. Most students prefer to take one or two of the exams in a setting.

The Gafney Library Adult Study Center is located at the Greater Wakefield Resource Center in Union, where the Gafney rents space for the program. Tutors at the center will safely prepare the area by sanitizing and setting up work areas for you prior to your arrival. Masks and social distancing are required.

To set up your appointment call Program Coordinator and Career Counselor Rosemary Stewart at 986-1116. Materials and tutoring are free.
