Our LOCAL INTERVIEWS are a big part of that.  The daily interviews broadcast on WASR create awareness of local events, fundraising efforts, information from town officials, and other things happening in our area.  The interviews also feature people-of-interest, local business people, children's groups, elected officials, celebrities in the area, as well as your friends and neighbors.

Up-to-date LOCAL SPORTS reports are broadcast each weekday on WASR.  We are pleased to have Josh Spalding, sports editor of Salmon Press newspapers, providing daily LOCAL SPORTS updates Monday through Friday.   LOCAL SPORTS reports are part of WASR's award winning MORNING REPORT and our Midday Report.  

Josh covers  a wide variety of organized team sports with particpants of all ages, sports from local clubs, high school sports, area games and races, as well as activities of the parks and recreation departments in our area.  Josh is a true sports enthusiast and enjoys seeing what he does bring excitement and recognition to the young athletes in our area.

WEEKLY FEATURE:  Part of the Morning Report, as provided to WASR for broadcast.

NH NEWS CONNECTION is a production of the Public News Service, a network of committed journalists and long-time staffers building an independent news service committed to the public intererst.  The service covers more than half of the nation at this time.  The features are typically vignettes on timely and relevant topics to NH residents.  

News Connection reports for New Hampshire, and some other states, are voiced by Monique Coppola.  Monique's voice is very familiar to regular listeners of WASR, as she has been affiliated with WASR in various capacities since 2004. She has received awards from The New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters for her work as a reporter, newscaster and talk show host. She covered the 2008 NH Primary and has interviewed a myriad of notables. Monique currently works as a broadcast journalist for Public News Service and covers a variety of issues for New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Maine.  

Monique is missed at the studios of WASR, but are pleased to receive and broadcast her NH NEWS CONNECTION reports.
