WEEKENDS:  Community Calendar briefs are broadcast NUMEROUS TIMES DAILY on both Saturday and Sunday.  

WASR's popular COMMUNITY CALENDAR is the area's most comprehensive listing of local events.  It's our way of serving the community, providing a way to find out what is going on today...or months from now.  The listings include community concerts, town meetings, church dinners, recreational activities, movie showings, library happenings and other events as submitted to WASR from local organizations.  

COMMUNITY CALENDAR ONLINE the at www.WASR.net offers the most detailed information...plus 24/7 access.  Our online version features expanded event info  and contact information.  When provided, event-website links are included.  It's also a great way to follow up on what you heard broadcast on 1420am.  You can even SEARCH FOR EVENTS by entering keywords in the white box on the flag at the top of the page.

SUBMIT YOUR EVENTS !  

The best way to submit your events to WASR is by email.  Please read the details below...  

WASR's COMMUNITY CALENDAR is made available to small local organizations, non profit groups, schools and municpal departments needing publicity for their events.  Requests should be submitted at least 10 days in advance for broadcast preparation.  However, they can be submitted months ahead of time for posting to the online version of COMMUNITY CALENDAR at www.WASR.net.  As the date of your event nears, it will receive some on-air promotion on WASR 1420AM.   The number of mentions is limited and based on the amount of events happening at the time.  There is no charge for these listings.  

When submitting any event for promotion, the following information should be included:

  • Organization Name
  • Contact Person
  • Event Date and Times
  • Event Details
  • Phone Number for Public
  • Website Link if available
